This site, corneliusclay.com, is run by Cornelius M. Clay II, publishing as Black Sage Press, in Los Angeles, California. This policy explains what personal information the site collects, why, and who it is shared with. We collect only what we need to fulfil orders, send the newsletter you sign up for, and keep the site secure. We do not sell your personal information.
What we collect
- When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, and phone number if you give one. We keep a record of what you bought.
- When you pay: card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on this site.
- When you join the newsletter: your email address. You confirm your subscription by email before you are added.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you include in your message.
- When you visit: your IP address and browser details are logged by our security software to block attacks. The site uses cookies needed for the shopping cart, checkout and, for site administrators, logging in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the services that run the store, and only what each needs:

Books are not sold on this site. Buy links take you to Books.by or Amazon, and their privacy policies apply there.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Security logs are deleted automatically after a short period.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
- Ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing us. We will reply within 30 days. Some order records must be kept for legal reasons.
- California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
